Mission Statement
The Birmingham Obedience Training Club is dedicated to promoting public awareness of the benefits of dog training and responsible pet ownership. A well-trained, well-socialized dog is a useful member of society and is a cherished companion. As an AKC licensed obedience club, BOTC is committed to advancing the sports of Obedience, Rally and Agility by offering trials, matches, and seminars each year.

We are dedicated to educating the public about the benefits of dog training, responsible and humane pet ownership, and spaying/neutering or responsible breeding practices to minimize the pet overpopulation problem
We believe the benefits of having a dog as a cherished companion are numerous, and include: reduction of stress, lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol, and a safeguard against depression or loneliness
We are opposed to Breed Specific Legislation, and believe that all dogs are capable of being good companions and valuable members of society with proper obedience training and early socialization
